Continuing Education offers Madison Food Tour and Farmers' Market

The University of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac Continuing Education department is offering a tour of Madison’s State Street restaurants and the Farmers’ Market on Capitol Square 9 a.m.-7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5.

This is a one-of-a-kind way to experience the heart of Madison and its main attractions. Tasting locations will include six food stops. The tour will include new American cuisine, a specialty food market, Himalayan and Nepalese dishes, State Street brats, and will end at the UW Memorial Union Rathskeller and Terrace. By the time participants have completed this walking tour they will have walked about three miles one way and eaten a full meal. Three of the food stops are sit down locations.

Extra time has been built in to the itinerary to enjoy the Farmers’ Market located around the Capitol. There will also be time for shopping on the walk back to Monona Terrace where the bus will be waiting. The fee is $98 which includes transportation and guided walking food tour.  An option to spend the day in Madison without the food tour is available for a fee of $49.
