The University of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac announces the creation of an accelerated degree program to be offered on site at Green Lake’s Town Square beginning in September 2013.
Students in the Green Lake program will attend classes two evenings a week. This unique program will be structured to offer five classes per year allowing for a completion of up to 15 credits per year at the site.
All credits earned are transferable to any other UW System school and classes will be taught by UW-Fond du Lac instructors. Financial aid may be available depending on the number of credits a student carries each semester.
Classes offered in Green Lake will meet for seven weeks with one week off before the next seven week class session begins. A summer session class will also be offered. Students can also supplement their face to face classes with online courses from the UW System.
UW-Fond du Lac awards an Associate of Arts and Science Degree and also offers a variety of bachelor’s degree completion programs. Tuition at UW-Fond du Lac is the lowest in the UW System, offering thousands of dollars in savings for students.
“In the spirit of the Wisconsin idea, the University of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac is committed to extending our resources and enriching the Green Lake community and surrounding areas. Our intent is to support the growth of graduates at both the associate and bachelor degree level,” said Dr. John Short, UW-Fond du Lac CEO and Dean. “We see the value of collaboration that will add to our human capital, additional college degree holders, and help in narrowing the skills gap in our part of Wisconsin.”
UW-Fond du Lac will host an informational session about the new program including financial aid options, registration and advising for prospective students at the Green Lake town Square on a date to be announced this spring.
