UW-Fond du Lac offers three healthcare test prep programs this fall

To meet the growing demand for healthcare workers, UW-Fond du Lac offers a three credit Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course which prepares students to take the CNA exam and non-credit test prep programs for those interested in a career as a Clinical Medial Assistant (CMA) or a phlebotomy technician.

These test prep programs are open to all ages including area high school juniors and seniors. For more information or to register for any of the programs, call UW-Fond du Lac continuing education at (920) 929-1155 to request an appointment for an interview and to complete necessary paperwork prior to the beginning of the course.

The Clinical Medical Assistant course begins Sept. 11 and provides necessary training and skills required to sit for the national examination of National Health career Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).This is a 140 hour non-credit program. The CCMA certification exam will be held at UW-Fond du Lac after the classroom coursework is completed. This course meets Sept. 11-Dec. 18, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-9:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Phlebotomy Tech Test Prep course begins Oct. 1 and is a 90 hour non-credit exam preparation program that prepares professionals to collect blood specimens from clients for the purpose of laboratory analysis. Students will be prepared to sit for the NHA-CPT exam. This exam preparation program offers a foundation for American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians (ASPT) Certification. This course meets Oct. 1-Dec. 19, Mondays and Wednesdays 6-9:30 p.m. and two Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 3 pm

The Certified Nursing Assistant three credit course begins Oct. 29 and prepares students to take the CNA exam and earn a CNA designation.  This course includes classroom, lab practice and clinical experience. Many nursing programs require students to have completed a nursing assistant course with clinical component and have a current CNA certificate at time of application.  The class will meet Oct. 29-Nov. 30, Monday-Thursday, 5-9 p.m. Clinicals will be Dec. 3-13, Monday-Thursday, 5:15 -9:15 p.m.
