Artist reception for two campus exhibits featuring the work of Mel Kolstad.
Reception held in the Visual Arts Gallery (A-125), with light refreshments available. A brief artist talk is set for 5 p.m.
Exhibits may be viewed March 13-April 28. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
On view in the Oberreich Gallery (University Center Commons): “Pervasive Plastic.” An installation of mandalas created using nothing but plastic bags, an iron, hot glue and machine stitching.
On View in the Visual Arts Gallery (A-125): “The Collograph in Miniature.” Consisting of 48 tiny 2X2" collographs, where the plates have been created using recycled materials.
Kolstad is an artist and an instructor working throughout the state of Wisconsin. She has been an active member in the Wisconsin art scene since 2007, and has exhibited around the country and abroad since 2009. She is also the curator of the Langdon Divers Gallery, located inside the Fond du Lac Public Library. Kolsted enjoys working in mixed media, as there are so many wonderful techniques to be explored.
