What led you to choose your program or major?

I want to eventually earn my doctoral degree in psychology. During this process, I want to open up a transitional living house for women who are coming out of incarceration to help them become successful members of society again. This is a very personal mission of mine as I was once that woman who need help.

Why did you decide to become a University of Wisconsin student at UW-Fond du Lac?

The low cost and the location. The small class sizes and access to professors.

Is there someone at UW-Fond du Lac who made a difference in your life or inspired you?

Yes, Professor Kayoung Kim. She has been a motivation and driving force of my education and ABCD Institute.  She cares about every single one of her students and that is inspiring.

Jill Bangart, as well, she is always there and willing to listen when I am bombarding her with questions.

What is one piece of advice you would give to an incoming UW-Fond du Lac student?

Keep moving forward. Everyone here is willing to help you, don't be afraid to ask. There is no stupid question.

Describe something unexpected that happened here at UW-Fond du Lac.

It all started with me joining student government.  I still don't know why I decided to take that on with my busy schedule, but I am thankful I did. I made friends and have had so many amazing opportunities.

When not in class or studying, what keeps you busy?

My beautiful 3-year-old daughter Clara and our new puppy Terius.  We love to be outside and to make our own adventures.

What are your plans after UW-Fond du Lac?

I plan to transfer to Marian University to finish my bachelor’s degree and then attend UW-Milwaukee for my master’s and doctorate degrees. I will continue to progress with my education all while balancing the everyday struggles of single motherhood.
