A local professor was one of 15 recipients of the 2018 Outstanding Women of Color in Education award presented by the University of Wisconsin System.

Kayoung Kim, psychology professor at UW-Fond du Lac, a UW Oshkosh campus, was recognized at an awards ceremony in Madison on Nov. 8. This year is the 23rd anniversary of the award through which 375 women of color have been recognized for their transformational work.

“Dr. Kim’s award recognizes her many classroom and community achievements, but particularly her work in advocating for social justice and the development of a statewide anti-bullying conference which was held at UW-Fond du Lac,” UW Oshkosh Assistant Chancellor for Access Campuses Martin Rudd said. “This is a wonderful honor for her.”

This annual honor is given to faculty, staff, students or community members to recognize their achievements in advancing equity and inclusion for people of color within the UW System and communities across the state.
