Auditions for UW-Fond du Lac’s spring production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” by William Shakespeare will be held 12:30-1:20 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 3 and Tuesday, Feb. 4 and also 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5 in the Art Building, room A-216, 400 University Dr.
This production will be a contemporary take on a Shakespeare classic. “It will be fun, easy and a little outside of the box,” said Gale Childs Daly, director and UW-Fond du Lac communications and theater arts lecturer. “It promises to be a good time for all.”
There are roles in the production for men and women ages 17-50. A role for a young boy age 8-10 is also available. Dancers are encouraged to audition. Rehearsals begin Tuesday, Feb. 18 and will be held on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
Those auditioning should bring a monologue from a play or a book of monologues with them. Shakespeare monologues are preferred. The monologue can be memorized or read and should be no longer than two minutes. No experience is necessary. Scripts are on reading reserve in the UW-Fond du Lac Library. Production dates are Apr. 9-13 in the Prairie Theater.
