Dr. Sayeed
Payesteh joined the UW-Fond du Lac faculty in 1991. He earned his Ph.D. in
economics with emphasis in
international finance from
UW-Milwaukee. He also holds
three master’s degrees, one
from Western Illinois
University in economics and
two from University of Texas
at Dallas in political
economy and management
sciences.
Prior to coming to UW-Fond du Lac, Payesteh had 14 years of
college teaching experience
and two years of
administrative experience as
the Dean of students at the
School of Commerce in Iran.
Payesteh teaches business and economics courses at UW-Fond du
Lac. He has been recognized
with the UW Colleges’ Kaplan
Award for his outstanding
contribution to the
education of students at
UW-Fond du Lac for the
1996-97 and 2003-04 academic
years.
In 1998 he was presented with a UW System-wide honor, the
Alliant Energy Underkofler
Excellence in Teaching
Award. This award recognizes
teaching of outstanding
quality that leads to
substantial intellectual
growth in students.
Payesteh’s research activities have resulted in publication
of several papers in
academic journals as well as
numerous paper presentations
at national and
international conferences.
He has served as a consultant to a number of area organizations
and businesses.
