Professor Carolyn Polodna has taught at UW-Parkside and UW-Milwaukee. She has received the Altrusa Award in recognition of her community work for Fond du Lac Adult Literacy. She is currently the treasurer of Fond du Lac Adult Literacy Services and is also part of the Fond du Lac Public Library executive committee. 

Polodna’s most exotic academic trip was to Yokmok, Sweden a few years ago where she gave a presentation to the International Indigenous Libraries Association. Her hobbies include working in the community, reading and writing poetry.
