Psychology

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN A
PSYCHOLOGY MAJOR?

Psychology is defined as the scientific study of behavior and mental processes. With such a broad and all-encompassing definition, just about any human activity or endeavor can be considered a legitimate area of investigation for psychological research. Major research areas include developmental psychology, cognitive psychology and personality. UW-Fond du Lac's psychology/social science curriculum provides you with basic skills and knowledge which will help you enroll in a bachelor's degree program upon transfer, succeed in a variety of professions, and compete successfully in the evolving global environment. The course of study will lead you to a fundamental understanding of the general factors which influence human and animal behavior, the value of scientific study of behavior, applying psychological principles to help people and solve everyday problems, and preparation for paraprofessional or professional occupations. The psychology curriculum, when combined with UW-Fond du Lac's strong liberal arts program, will provide you with the essentials of the first two years of a psychology/social science education for the 21st century.
